I was watching Good Morning America and saw this horrible story about a British couple who sued their videographer for a horrible wedding video. I was appalled! Basically the videographer did a terrible job and left the camera on the tripod on multiple occasions while he was shooting another wedding at the same time.
Amazing. The point I'm trying to make here is DO YOUR RESEARCH. This is your big day. Don't skimp out on a cheaper vendor just to save a few extra bucks.
Another thing that would've been a big red flag for me was the fact that the video only cost $500. Most good videographers are going to charge you way more than that. Unless the business is just starting out and trying to build a clientele, most vendors will charge you more, much more. Video is expensive. Although you may not understand videography - there is a lot of time and effort that goes into making a wedding video. You need good cameras, experience, and a great edit. A poor edit can ruin a video - and editing takes time. More than $500 worth.
So, point of the story. This is your big day - don't pretend that things don't matter. Get to know your vendors. Find out why they started their business. What is their background. How many weddings have they done? Also, do your research. If you think something is outrageous, maybe find out why. Here's a great article I read about wedding photography and why it costs so much.
In the invitation world, it's the same thing. Get to know us. Let us show you what we can do. Don't just hire us based on our website. Hire us based on our knowledge and our quality - we'd be more than happy to show you.
Great video re-post!
